Add Seafood to Your Diet

When you are looking at fat burning options, seafood can be a good alternative to meat for keeping protein levels high without adding too much fat. Seafood tends to have fewer calories than red meats and poultry, making it a good substitute for those heavier proteins in your diet plan. The best part is that it tastes good too, so you aren't giving anything up when you choose it as an option. Here are two great seafood picks that can be included in a wide variety of recipes:

  • Tuna. Tuna is a terrific food, and it can help sustain you without adding a lot of fat and cholesterol to the protein component of your meal. Tuna can be added to salads straight from the can or you can sear it and serve with fresh vegetables for a nutritious meal. Try to opt for the kind that is packed in water.
  • Shrimp. Shrimp can be included in many meal choices as well. Stir fry with pea pods, water chestnuts and broccoli for a delicious dinner. Serve with a little bit of brown rice rather than opting for white. You can also add pre-cooked shrimp to salads for a delicious lunch that will hold you a bit better than the veggies alone.
